There Is No Rose Without Thorns

What might your life look like, if instead of striving to be "good," you sought to be WHOLE?

Because the truth of it is, we all come from and contain the WHOLE. It is impossible for us to be light without shadow, masculine without feminine, alive without death.

As the French proverb goes, “Il n’y a pas de rose sans épines.” "There is no rose without thorns," and no angel without horns.

The brightest light we know that gives us life and warmth also casts shadows across the earth and burns our skin.

Mother Nature's life-giving benevolence can also swallow us whole.

Oftentimes our greatest pleasure or success requires moving through our greatest pain and challenges.

When we love another, we must accept that eventually with love comes loss, even if only eventually by death.

Polarity is the richness of life, the dance of opposites that gives existence texture and depth, acquainting us with every facet of the nature of existence.

The more you resist the side of the coin you are least comfortable with, the more it will persist in an effort to be accepted. The more you embrace it, the freer you become in your wholeness.
